About The Touch
The Touch
Track Time: 4:14Some folks are looking for touch, some are looking for love, and some are looking for both. Sometimes these agendas get mixed up when people don’t openly express their needs from the onset. I have been one of those people.
The day I wrote this song, I felt it was the best song I had ever written. I played it that night at a solo patio gig at a bar-b-cue place with the sun shining in my eyes and the temperature around 98 degrees. The audience was three tables of drunks involved in very loud conversations. I got through it, assumed that no one heard a word or a note, and then an older woman sitting at the table closest to me yelled: “Hey, have you recorded that song? You hear me! You need to record that song. It’s a great fucking song!” Ah, a little positive reinforcement can mean a lot to a songwriter sometimes.
This song became the album title, which generated the initial cover (picture here). The initial pressing was done with this cover and then changed to the current graphic art work. Copies of the initial pressing with the initial photos/graphic art work are available in the store on this site. All are signed and numbered and will be available until sold out. Who knows, you might get more than you paid for it on eBay someday if "The Touch" is moderately successful and I die a sudden tragic death.
