About The Touch
Company Man
Track Time: 3:24This song is my ode to spending 12 years of my life in a work environment that modeled a dysfunctional autocratic familial system, which in turn triggered all my unresolved developmental issues. It was ugly. Between 12 years of attending a small town conservative public school system and 12 years of working for the federal government, I feel like I have spent 24 years of my life incarcerated in prison. Thank god I am finally out on parole.
Kelley Hunt ran through the first take of putting her track on this song and blew me away with her solo, after which she said: “How’s that, is that OK, or are you looking for something else?” I was sitting on the couch in the control room of the recording studio with a huge grin on my face and said: “I can’t believe I am sitting here telling Kelley Hunt what to play.” Needless to say, she found the groove without any advice from me!
